Installation:
This method explains how to install Ubuntu 9.04 inside Windows.
Some pre-requisites:
- You can download the Wubi installer from here.
- You can download the Ubuntu 9.04 ISO from here.
- You need to have - 256 MB memmory, 5 GB hard disk space and Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista.
Step-by-step procedure:
Step 1: Download the ISO file and copy it into the folder with Wubi executable file.
Step 2: Double click the Wubi executable. The installer will detect the ISO file and installation will begin.
Step 3: You will have to enter a username and password for your new OS.
Step 4: When prompted, enter the size that you want to allocate for Ubuntu on the hard drive. Also choose the location where you want to install the Ubuntu.
Step 5: Now click on the install to start the installation.When the installation is complete reboot your system. You will find an option for booting into Ubuntu.
Uninstallation:
You wouldnt want to read on this, but still.., this will help you when you get to install Ubuntu in a separate partition.
Step 1: Goto Control Panel.
Step 2: Goto Add/Remove programs.
Step 3: Choose Ubuntu and then click on the Change/Remove.
Step 4: Click on Uninstall.
Once you are done with the above steps, reboot your system and Ubuntu is no longer in your Windows partition.
