In this article I'll explain on how to get connected to the internet in Ubuntu, if your broadband has a Username and a Password. Its real simple.

  1. Your Ethernet card should be supported and its driver should be installed. (All major ethernet cards are supported by Ubuntu like BSNL, MTNL, Airtel etc.,)
  2. Goto Applications-> Accessories-> Terminal
  3. Type in sudo pppoeconf
  4. Enter you Username and password. Beware : The password will be visible on the screen.
  5. Go ahead., open Mozilla and start browsing..
